| 抄録: | This paper mainly describes the initial assimilation in the Xianyou dialect, a sinitic dialect spoken in Xianyou County 仙遊県, Putian Prefecture 莆田市，Fujian Province 福建省, China. At first, a sketch of the phonology including consonants, vowels and tones is introduced. And whether this assimilation is synchronic or diachronic is discussed. By utilizing the first-hand data, an assimilation rules table is summarized. Even though there are papers on the Xianyou dialect in the 1950s and 1960s, this paper will excavate many new findings. |
