<論説>恭仁京の歴史地理学的研究 第一報 : 現景観の観察・測定にもとづく朝堂院・内裏・宮域および右京「作り道」考

Abstract

一万分ノ一空中写真による道路・畦畔・溝渠・微地形の検討と、その結果にもとづいた必要箇所の現地観察・測定という方法で、恭仁宮朝堂院・内裏・大内裏(宮域) プランおよび京内の主要道路の復原を試みた。その結果、(一)東西約二〇〇メートル、南北約五〇〇メートルの、四周を自然または人工的小崖や明瞭な畦溝で区切られた、朝堂院址と考えられる平坦な面を認めることができた。(二)その推定朝堂院址の北にほぼ接する位置に、一辺約二〇〇メートルの正方形プランに合致する下溝が認められ、その範囲を内裏と推定するに至った。(三)推定朝堂院・内裏を中心として、方八町の恭仁宮域(大内裏) を図上で画定し、その当否を検討したところ、道路・畦溝等の地割、地形、地名のいずれの点からみても、その区画は宮域と考えるのに妥当なものであることが明らかになった。(四)さらに恭仁京右京にあたると考えられる木津地区に、おそらく恭仁京時代に作られ、同時代にもっとも重要な役割をはたしたと考えられる道路堤を見出し、それをもとにして山背と大和とを結ぶ交通路に関する一つの見解を示すことができた。

Through the examination of the roads, ditches, footpaths and micro topography by the aerial photographs of one ten-thousandth with the observation and survey of the necessary spots, the auther is to trace back the plan of Kuni-kyu-chodoin 恭仁宮朝堂院, Dairi 内裏, Daidairi 大内裏 (court area) and the main streets of the metropolis. The result was as follows; (1) the plain surface was recognized which was thought to be the site of Chodoin 朝堂院, divided all around by the natural or artificial small cliffs and clear ditches, about two hundred meters from east to west and about five hundred from south to north. (2) the site nearly on the north of the Chodoin was assumed to be Dairi, enclosed with the square ditch of a side which about two hundred meters long. (3) As a result of drawing the site of Kuni-kyu (Daidairi) with eight cho 町 (about one thousand meters) square around the assumed Chodoin and Dairi, the site is naturally thought to be the court area, judging from every point such as the pattern of roads or ditches, topography and the place name. (4) Still more in the Kizu 木津 area, considered as Ukyo 右京 in Kuni-kyo 恭仁京, the site of the road was found which played the most important part in the contemporary and was possibly constructed in the preiod of Kuni-kyo.
