<研究ノート>九州に於ける中国史前の黒陶系の土器

Abstract

一九三〇年代のはじめに山東省城子崖遺跡の調査で新たに知られた黒陶は、其後、北シナの各地に濃密に分布して史前の彩陶につづき殷代の白陶に先立った著しい中国での土器様式であることが明らかになった。ここに云う黒陶系の土器は、その様式をうけたもので、右の中心以外の各地より、四隣の国土に波及したものを指す。この事はまた各地に於ける出土品に依って認められたことである。遠く離れた九州の一部に右の黒陶系と認められる特色を示す土器の出土していることの管見に上ったのは早く一九四〇年代の終りであった。しかし、当時にあっては、この国土に於ける外来に基く土器様式が所謂弥生式土器にはじまるとの先入の主観よりし、且つは黒陶そのものについての知見を欠いたこと等から、固より看過された。そしてその後新たに注意に上ったものをはじめ更に見出された同じ顕著な類にあっても、依然として現在に及んでいる。この小文は四年前熊本県御船町の遣跡で新たな出土が報ぜられたのを機会に、是等の九州に於ける黒陶系の土器類について、国外に於ける確実な黒陶系の遺品と対比して、その然る所以を説いたもので、これに依って中国の古い土器様式の早くこの国土に波及し受容されたことを明らかにすると共に、併せていまや通念化した観のあるこの国に於ける史前土器の編年観の止揚せられる可きことに及んだものである。

The Black Pottery, discovered at Ch'êng-tzu-ya 城子崖 in Shan-tung-sing 山東省 at the beginning of 1930's, had given much influence to the pottery types of the neighbouring countries, in one of which, Japan, I confirmed the pottery distinguished by the very lineage of the Black Pottery as early as 1940's. Comparing with the remarkable pottery types unearthed from the other archaeological sites, especially in the south coastal China, I can affirm that the cylindrical vessels with handle and the other characteristic types newly emerged from the latest stages of the Jomon prehistoric period and continued to be used early in the subsequent Yayoi period. In addition to this argument I also point out that the pottery on the line of the Black Pottery is conbind with agriculture in the latest stages of the Jomon Period.
