<論説>高畠素之論 : 大正社会主義の分化

Abstract

日本の大正期社会主義は、明治期の啓蒙期段階から運動の実体化をめざす模索期といえるが、日露戦争後の戦略論議の継承として<政治運動即議会政策か、経済運動即直接行動か>という二者択一として議論された。しかし大正期の民衆の政治的自由獲得運動への社会主義者の介入の必要は、その全面否定か全面肯定かという対応からの転換をせまられていた。同じ頃、ロシア革命を成功させたボルシュヴィキ党は<政治運動も経済運動も>という両者の止揚者であると観念した高畠素之は、そのモデルによって社会主義者の主流であった直接行動主義者を批判し、十年来の議論の止揚を試みた。しかし政治革命成功後のソヴィエト国家の巨大化の必然は、マルクス主義の集産的経済実現のための必然とみた高畠は同じロシア革命をモデルに国家社会主義をマルクス主義の論理的発展の先取りとして唱え、その故に日本社会主義史において彼は右翼反動への転向者として片づけられているが、大正社会主義の避けることのできぬ問題に正面から対処せんとした山川均と並ぶ大正期社会主義の最高の理論家を正当に位置づける必要があると思われる。

Japanese socialism in the Taisho 大正 period was in the groping period for the purpose of substantialization of the movement from the enlightening period of Meiji 明治; which was discussed as an alternative "political movement means parliamentary policy or economic movement means direct action." Necessity of the socialists' intervention into the popular movement for political freedom was urged into converting from the symmetry of total negation or total affirmation. Contemporaneously, Motoyuki Takabatake 高畠素之 who had the idea that the Bolshevik party, which won the Russian Revolution, was an overcomer of both "political movement and economic movement, " commented the direct-actionists, the main current of socialists, after the above model, and tried overcoming the ten years' discussion. M. Takabatake, who thought that the necessity of enlargement of the huge Soviet State should be that of realization for the collective economy in Marxism, affirmed state socialism as a logical development of Marxism after the model of the Russian Revolution and therefore he has been considered as a convert to the rightist reaction. We should rank him in due position of one of the highest theorists in the Taisho 大正 socialism along with Hitoshi Yamakawa 山川均, both of whom tried to face and meet the inevitable problem of the Taisho socialism.
