<論説>ジェイムソン侵入事件とラント金山二大会社

Abstract

ドイツ皇帝ヴィルヘルム二世のクリューヘル大統領あて祝電事件のおまけがついて有名な、ジェイムソン侵入事件は、ほんらいクリューベル大統領政府の転覆をめざす武装蜂起と支援侵入とを組みあわせた陰謀事件である。この陰謀はあっけない失敗におわったとはいえ、うたがいもなく、金山二大会社の直接関係者を首謀者として立案されたうえに、遮蔽された背後から、覆面した帝国植民省によって、便宜と指示とを与えられてすすめられた陰謀であって、失敗して四年後のブーア戦争の前奏曲として想起される。本稿は、陰謀のほんらいの首謀者二大金山会社の、金山経営上の環境と共謀の動機とを研究する。

The case of the Jameson Raid, known with the case of the congratulatory telegram of Kaiser Wilhelm II to President Kruger, was that of the conspiracy both for the armed uprising to overthrow the President Kruger's administration and for the Raid in support. Though this conspiracy failed too quickly, it was the one that was drafted to make as chief leaders, without doubt, participants of the two big companies in the gold mine and moreover was promoted by the gift of conveniences and instructions by the veiled colonial office of the empire ; the Raid was recollected as a prelude of the Boer War four years after its failure. This article explains the managing conditions of the gold mines and the motive of the conspiracy of two big companies, the genuine leader of the conspiracy.
