<論説>虚構と史実<祇園女御・青侍夢・治承物語> : 平家物語の原本について続論

Abstract

史実か虚構か久しく未定であった平家物語の清盛皇胤説も最近は、史実説が有力であるが、平家物語・仏舎利相承系図を始めとして祇園女御関係史料を再検討すると、女御関係説話が発展する途上で生じた虚構に過ぎないことは明白である。また平家物語成立年時を測る記事として江戸時代以来注目の青侍夢は、春日明神が登場発言しない八坂流諸本をもって原本に近いとする見解が定説となっているが、平家物語の関係記事を改めて吟味し、実朝の死の直前、幕府・朝廷の間で将軍の後嗣を極秘に選考内定したことを慈円が知っていたことを考えると、慈円の保護を受けた平家物語の原作者が創作にあたって、将来の将軍は摂関家出自であるべきことを暗示する青侍夢を構想したことは確実である。平家物語の原名が治承物語であることは御物兵範記紙背文書が示す事実であるが、十二巻本仁治当時成立説をそれによって主張するのは史料考証を誤ったものである。

The thory in Heike-monogatari 平家物語 that Kiyomori 清盛 was a son of Emperor, which has not been decided for a long time to be a fiction or a historical fact, is now validly considered as a historical fact. Reexamining the resources of Gion-nyôgo 祗園女御 such as Heike-monogatari and Busshari-sôshô-keizu 仏舎利相承系図, however, we may make it clear that it is only a fiction on the developing process of the story about nyôgo 女御. About Seishi-no-yume 青侍の夢, which has been marked since the Edo 江戸 era as an article to determine the date of Heike-monogatari, the opinion that those books of Yasakaryû 八坂流 in which Kasuga-myôjin 春日明神 did not appear and speak should nearly be the original text has been the established theory. Reexamining the concerned articles in Heike-monogatari and considering that Jien 慈円 knew the absolutely secret selection and private decision of the successor to shogun between the Shogunate government and the Imperial Court just before the death of Sanetomo 実朝, we have solid grounds for saying that the original author of Heike-monogatari, who was protected by Jien, should construct Seishi-no-yume suggesting that the future shogun should be of Sekkan 摂関 families' origin. The document of Gyobutsu-hyôhankishihai-monjo 御物兵範紙背文書 shows the fact that the original name of Heike-monogatari was Jishô-monogatari 治承物語, on which the insistence that the series with 12 volumes had been made in Ninji 仁治 should be from the wrong investigation of resources.
