<論説>経済思想から見た福沢諭吉と康有為

Abstract

福沢諭吉と康有為はいずれも近代啓蒙思想家であった。日本と中国との近代史に占めるこの二人の地位は、いうまでもなく、きわめて重要であった。彼らの維新変革思想などについて、多くの人たちがたえず研究している。しかし、彼らの変革思想中における経済立国論、ことにそれらの比較と、両者の異同を明らかにする研究は、まだ未開発のままだといえる。本稿は福沢と康が資本主義国の経済体制をとり入れてそれぞれの維新変革をはかったことについて書いたものである。その主たる目的は、両者の経済変革思想から維新変革の過程に現われた彼らの現実主義と理想主義とを追求しようとするものである。

Yukichi Fukuzawa and K'ang Yu wei were both philosophers for the enlightenment, they indeed held high places in the modern histories of their respective countries--the former in that of Japan and the latter of China. Their reform thoughts have been investigated by many students, but the studies of their thoughts on national economy, especially by the comparative approach, have scarcely been made. This article suggests that both attempted to modernize their countries by introducing the capitalist economy. And its main objective is to trace their realism and idealism found in the process of modernization which was based upon their economic innovation thoughts.
