<論説>戦国大名北畠氏の権力構造 : 特に大和宇陀郡内一揆との関係から

Abstract

本稿は、戦国大名北畠氏の権力構造の中に、字陀郡内一揆を如何に構造的に組み込むか、という課題に答えようとするものである。戦国期の宇陀郡には、郡内一揆とその構成メンバーである個別領主の「方」集団とが重層的に存在し、更にそれぞれに対応する郡掟と領中法度がやはり重層的に存在した。個別領主の「方」集団内部には、与力・同名衆が含まれたが、広義には惣村もその中に包摂されていた。そしてこの集団内に於ける縦の紐帯の契機は、横の連合の契機に明らかに優越していた。戦国大名北畠氏は原則的には宇陀郡を郡内一揆の自治区として容喙せず、有事に於てのみ個別領主をその軍役体系内部に編成した。そして軍役体系の基本単位としての個別領主制の維持のために、一族・同名・被官衆に対する惣領支配の擁護に腐心したのである。

This article aims at making an answer to the problem of what position to be given for the Gunnai-ikki 郡内一揆 of Uda 宇陀 canton in the system of rule of the Kitabatakes 北畠氏, princes of the Sengoku 戦国 period. In the canton of that time, there were two levels of associations of the lords : the Gunnai-ikki of the lords of first rank and the Kata 方 associations around each member of the ikki. And there were correspondingly two levels of laws : the law of the canton for the ikki and laws of domains for Kata associations. A Kata association consisted of Yoriki 与力 and Domyo-shu 同名衆, and in a wide sense it also included Soson 惣村. But at any rate the ties of dependence clearly predominated over the solidarities of the associations. The Kitabatakes, in principle, did not intervene in the government of the canton considered as a selfgoverning dominion of the ikki, and only when some events had come they organized the lords of the canton according to the system of military service due to the princes. Therefore for the purpose of supporting the lordships being primary units of that system, they safeguarded with effort the domination by the patriarch over the clan, Domyo-shu and vassals.
