<論説>縁帯文系土器群の成立と展開 : 西日本縄文後期前半期の地域相

Abstract

本稿の目的は、縄文後期前半期、西日本に分布した縁帯文系土器群を取り上げ、その成立・展開の様相を地域別編年の再検討を通じて明らかにし、その上で地域色を問題とし、地域間関係のあり方を追究することである。まず、緑帯文系土器群の成立・展開については、緑帯文土器成立期として広瀬土壙40段階を設定し、地域内の内在的な土器の変化と外来の影響の結合の中から縁帯文土器が成立してくることを明らかにし、さらに型式内容の再整理を通じて従来の編年を検討し、四期に分けて地域別に変遷過程を把握した。その上で、型式を構成する多様な要素に着目して、地域色が如何なる現れ方をしているかを検討した。縁帯文系土器群は、土器作りになくてはならない部分を共有する基層的地域が核となり、とくに有文土器の情報交換が密接に行われたことにより、広域な地域に親縁度の高い類似土器相として成立・展開した姿として捉えられ、地域間の親疎関係の変化によりIV期には東海西部が独自の土器地域圏に傾斜しつつあることが明らかとなった。

The purpose of this paper is to examine the formation and evolution of the Entaimon type pottery by considering the regional chronologies and the relation between regional characteristics of pottery. The type of pottery thought to appear at this stage is exemplified by the finds of Pit 40 of the Hirose site. It resulted from a mixture of typological changes in the region and influences from eastern Japan. A chronological examination of pottery type variations, revealed four phases. I focused on the aspect of diversity in the pottery, and examined how local characteristics developed in each type. The conclusions are, 1) the Entaimon type pottery group appeared and evolved as the result of frequent exchanges in pottery design over the large area of the core regions, and 2) in the forth period, according to changes in relations between diferent geographical regions, it is clear that pottery in the Tokai district gradually developed its own independent character.
