Abstract

本稿は、植民地朝鮮に渡ったコロニアルこミッショナリーとしての日本人女教員について、日本女性の朝鮮認識・帝国意識や、帝国の担い手論の観点から分析するものである。第一章では、一九〇〇年代初期から日韓併合直後までの時期に、どのような日本女性たちが朝鮮に渡り、何を見て、どのように認識したかを分析する。第二章では、日本人女教員が朝鮮にどれほどいたかを、日韓併合以前と以後にわけて明らかにする。第三章では、日本の朝鮮支配によって遅れた朝鮮・野蛮な朝鮮人を誰が教え導くかという帝国の困難な課題が台頭する中、日本人女教員はどのような存在として考えられ朝鮮に送られたか、そして彼女らの意識と役割はどうだったかを分析する。

In this paper, I analyze Japanese female teachers who traveled to colonial Korea as colonial missionaries based on viewpoint that recognizes the imperialist sentiments that motivated the Japanese women who can be regarded as upholding the Japanese empire. In section one, which deals with the period from the early 1900s to just after the annexation of Korea by Japan, I clarify what the Japanese women saw in Korea and how they perceived it. In section two, I examine the numbers of Japanese female teachers there were in Korea at the end of the Joseon era and under the Japanese occupation. Lastly, in section three, I analyze how Japanese female teachers can be considered as upholding the Japanese empire when facing difficult problems, such as who would lead undeveloped Korea and teach the uncivilized people who lived there as well as the consciousness of the teachers and their role in colonial Korea.
