<論説>共同体の地理的規模 (特集 : 共同体の諸問題)

Abstract

共同体の立地する地域の面積・入口には一定の法則がある。ムラから国家共同体に至るまで、各位相の共同体のテリトリーの結合様式にも、一定の秩序と組織がある。別稿「地域の階層的結合について」(地理学評論二八の六)の立場を、表題の観点から新しいデーターを用いておしすすめたのが本稿であり、世界諸国のムラ・グン・クニ等の進化と地域組織の関係、その空間規模のローカルな変化、自生的地域共同体と制度的地域共同体のからみ合い等をとりあげつつ、人間共同体に対する地域論的アプローチを試みる。なお、ここで地域とは、自然・景観・人間共同体の organized whole であり、それ自体広義の共同体である。かつて「社会」が発見されたように、筆者は「地域」的事実を追究する。

Between the area and the population of the community there is a general rule and in the mode of combination among the various teritories from the village to the nation there also is a order and a kind of systematization. This article is a more detailed study from the above-mentioned view-point of the foregoing research "The Stratificated Combination of the Areas" which I published in the Geographical Review (vol. 28. No. 5). An approach was made as to the reciprocal relation between the evolution of the territories and their organization and of spontaneous and the institutional communities. The areas, the landscapes and the nature are the original whole of the human community and I want to pave the way to the "area" as man has once found the 'society".
