<論説>銀差の成立をめぐって : 明代徭役の銀納化に関する一問題

Abstract

明代の役法に関する研究は、かなり早くから行われているが、従来は里甲制をめぐる研究か多く、里甲の役以外の雑役についてはあまりとり上げられなかった。本稿は雑役に関する諸問題のうち、とくに均徭における銀差の成立という点をとり上げた。均徭は雑役を整理してその賦課方法を合理化したもので、一四四〇年代から行われたが、時代が下るとその中に銀納の役と従来通り労役を提供するものと二種の区別が生じた。これが銀差と力差である。本稿叙述の主眼点は、銀差の成立には特定の役目の銀納化が前提となっていること、およびそれらの役の銀納化した経緯から判断すると、銀差の成立を推進した力は官僚の銀に対する欲求にあったこと、この二条である。

The studies of the corvee law in the Ming dynasty, even its earlier origin, have been concentrated on the li-chia (里甲) system, but not miscellaneous services except the li-chia (里甲) services. Here, we will especially investigate the formation of yin-ch'ai (銀差) in chün-yao (均徭), or reasonable arrangement of statute labor, among the problems of miscellaneous services. In chün-yao (均徭), dated from 1440s, occurred in the course of time the distinction between services payed in silver and the statute labor as before; these are yin-ch'ai (銀差) and li-ch'ai (力差). The principal object of this paper consists of two parts: (1) In the formation of yin-ch'ai (銀差) should be set forth as premise tax-payment in silver for special services; (2) judging from the details of the transition to the payment in silver, the impulse of its formation should be desire of the bureaucracy for silver.
