<論説>都市における惣的結合の発展 : 特に天文の法華一揆を中心として (特集 : 都市研究)

Abstract

一〇七四年、ドイツのケルンに勃発した市民の大暴動は、富裕商人のグループによつて指導されたコンミューン運動の先駆的なものとして知られている。都市がコンミューンを確立するためには、都市領主との間に数次にわたる闘争と妥協が必要であつた。わが国においても、十六世紀はこの種の暴動の京都・奈良其他に著しくなつた時期である。ここでは主として京都におこつた天文法華の一揆を取扱い、それが勃発するまでの経過や町衆の役割、一揆の様相や惣の発展との関係などについて述べ、日本におけるコンミューン結成の運動の特質について考える一素材としたい。

The great riot of Köln in Germany in 1074 is known as the first commune-movement guided by the group of wealthy merchants. In order to establish commune cities had to repeatedly make terms with and struggle against the citylord. Also in Japan the sixteenth century was the period when such a riot was predominant in Kyoto, Nara or other places. This article treats the Hokke (法華) riot mainly in Kyoto in the Tenmon (天文) era, explaining its process in pre-riot period and the rôle of Machisyû (町衆), expecting to be a material for studying the characteristic of the commune-movement in Japan.
