<論説>近世城下町プランの発展類型 : 序説 (特集 : 都市研究)

Abstract

城下町の研究は、一見、≪形態論≫をこえた段階にきているように云われながら、実はその体系的な研究は十分果されていないように思われる。例えば城下町プランの系譜をあとづけるような仕事は、ようやく緒についたばかりといえる。本稿では近世城下町プランに五つの類型を設定し、その発展系列を考えてみようとしたものである。いささかでも論旨の簡潔を期するため、最初、第I節において、一応の要約としての≪仮説≫をのべ、第II節において、これを例証することにした。

It is true that studies on the castle-town have been said to be in the stage beyond "morphology", but its systematic research seems to remain unaccomplished; for instance, to trace back the lineage of the castle-towns' plans is at the very beginning. In this article, we will set five styles in the castle-towns' plans in the Edo era to consider the series of their development. To make our point of argument simple, in the first chapter is "hypothesis" as an outline for the time being; in the second chapter it will be exemplified.
