<論説>中国殷周の古鏡

Abstract

中国に於ける金属鏡の由来については、一九二〇年代に、戦国時代の豊富な遺品の出現によつて従来知られていた漢鏡にさかのぼる以前の鏡式がはじめて確められたのであつた。しかしそれに先立っ殷周代のものについては、ほとんど確実な例に接することがなかつた。ところが前年の、安陽殷墓での発掘品についで、新たに河南省陝県出土の東周虢国の鏡などの出土の報告がされたことから鏡の起源の問題が現実に考えられることになつた。本稿はそれらを紹介するとともに、手許にある若干の関係資料を加えて、それ等の性質から中国鏡の起源を推し、さらに後の時代のものとの関連を考察したものである。

It was recognized in the latter half of 1920s that the origin of metal mirrors starts far back of those in the Han (漢) dynasty which were to be the oldest heretofore, by abundant appearance of the mirrors in the Chan-kuo (戦国) era; but as for the mirrors in Yin (殷) or Chou (周) dynasties any reliable sample could hardly be found. In recent years, however, the mirrors before the Chan-kuo (戦国) era become to deserve of being discussed, as a result of the report on the mirrors of Tung-chou-kun-kuo (東周虢国) from Shan-hsien (陜県) Ho-nan-sing (河南省) the finds from An-yang-yin-mu (安陽殷墓). This article, besides introduction those finds, tries to study the origin and tradition of the Chinese mirror and their connection with later mirrors, supplying some references at hand.
