<研究ノート>古代終末期の政情と「玉葉」の記述内容

Abstract

古代終末期の政治史問題は、幾多の先学によって論究されてきた。いわゆる六波羅政権の名のもとに、武力的平氏の興亡の姿において理解されてきた。しかし、この時期の政治的実情は極めて複雑であり、平氏の政権の発展的実態並びにその興亡の原理的なものについては、必らずしも具体的に明らかにされていない。それは中世移行の前提であるが、現実には後白河院政と摂関家政治との絡みあいの中に把握し、評価されなければならない問題であると考える。本論はかかる観点から中央政情の実態についての考察を試みた。その場合、最も有力かつ貴重な史材を提供する玉葉は、従来、その記事の批判検討はなされたが、それ以上のものについての考慮に欠けていた憾みがある。玉葉が厳正真摯な態度によつて記誌されている反面、また公的記録なるが故に、実態と事項によつては却つて時勢の政治的社会的諸制約をもつことが見落されていた。かかる本質的な面よりくる記事の検討・批判とその史料的裏附けによつて、この期の政情の真相の一端が解明されると考える。

Many articles on the political history in the closing period of the ancient times which understood the period in the appearance of vicissitudes of the warring Taira 平 clan under the name of the so-called Rokuhara 六波羅 administration not always clarify concretely the developing substance of the Taira's administration and the principle of its ups and downs, which seems to be the premise of its transition to the Middle Ages but in reality the problem to be evaluated and understood in the complication of the rule of the cloisterd Emperor Shirakawa 白河 with the Sekkan 摂関 administration. This article tries to research the political conditions in the central government from this point of view, in which 'Gyokuyô' is the most powerful and valuable resource. Criticism of its contents has been done without any more consideration. As it was the public record, though it was recorded by the strict and earnest attitude, it was overlooked that conditions and its articles depended on the then political and social conditions, from the substance of which we think it to be clear by criticism and examination of its articles and by backing with other resources.
