Abstract

今世紀における世界考古学発掘の十指のうちに列せられる安陽殷墟の発掘は、一九二八年から三七年まで、前後十五回おこなわれたが、その調査の全貌を明らかにする概要報告は、今日まで十分になされていない。 石璋如氏は第四次発掘のとき、河南大学学生として参加して以来、連年この調査に参加し、戦争勃発以後は、その出土品の移管保護ならびに整理の任にあたり、現在、台湾の中央研究院歴史語言研究所・所員として、茫大な資料の研究、出版に専身しておられる。昭和十五年日本へ遊学、京都に滞在された機会に、京都大学文学部において十月二十二日から五回にわたって『安陽考古概観』と題する特別講義を行なった。本ノートはその講演の平岡武夫教授 (人文科学研究所) による通訳を、小野山節•吉本堯俊両君が書き直したものである。

Excavations of Anyang-yin-hsii 安陽殷墟, one of the most important world archaeological excavations in this century, was held fifteen times in all from 1928 to 1937; but we have not altogether a full summary that explains the whole aspect of the investigation. Shih Chang-ju 石璋如, a participator of the fourth excavation as a student of Honan 河南 University, has been a member of the examination after the fourth, was charged with the transference, protection and arrangement of its relics after the outbreak of the war, and now specialises in study and publication of the massive materials as a member of History and Language Department, Central Research Institute, Formosa. This note is the very one that Setsu Onoyama 小野山節 and Takatoshi Yoshimoto 吉本堯俊 rewrote an interpretation by Prof. Takeo Hiraoka 平岡武夫 in the Shih Chng-ju 石璋如 's special lecture "Archaeological Outline of Anyang 安陽" for five days from Oct. 22nd at the Literature Department of Kyoto University on the occasion of his staying in Kyoto while he came to Japan for study in the 35th year of Showa (1960).
