<論説>十三・四世紀におけるモンゴル軍のインド侵入

Abstract

十三世紀初葉のチンギス・ハン摩下のモンゴル軍の侵入に始まり、その後十四世紀にかけてモンゴル族は西北インドへの侵入を繰り返した。第一回の侵入は、フヮーラズム朝の打倒と東西交通路幹線の占有権の確保を主目的とし、たまたまフヮーラズム王が南走したのを追撃してインダス河畔に逹したのにすぎなかったが、やがてチャガタイ汗国の成立とともにインドに対して本格的な征服戦を展開し、デリーのスルターン政権 (Delhi Sultanat) の背後を脅した。本稿はその経過を跡づけ、あわせてその史的意義を検討しようと試みたものである。

From the invasion of the Mongolian army under Chinggis-Khan at the beginning of the 13 th century, the Mongolian made a repeated raid on the north-western India till the 14 th century. The first invasion was projected to dissolve the Khwārizm-Shāh dynasty and to secure the possessory right of the principal road between East and West, happened to reach the bank of the Indus in pursuit of the south-routing Khwārizm-Shāh king. Soon, with establishment of the kingdom of Chaghatai-Khan, the Mongolian started the earnest invasion to India and threatened the back of Sultanat in Delhi, the development of which this article tries to trace with the examination of its historical importance.
