<書評>平安期の開発に関する二・三の問題

Abstract

平安期は、それまでの律令国家の条里制施行に代表される国家的な大規模開発から荘園制下の小規模開発への過渡期にあたっている。当蒋の主要な開発の対象は、条里制の遺産として残されていた田代と、体制的にたえず再生産されていた荒廃田であって、いずれも比較的開発の容易な土地であった。このような開発対象に対しては、一般農民層も小規模な開発を行ない得るし、またたえずこれを行なうことによって、治田所有者としての土地に対する権利を強めるとともに、それぞれの地域に定着して階級的な成長を遂げていった。このことが在地の有力者をはじめ荘園領主や国衙などの閥発を大きく規定する。本稿では、以上のような視角からこの暁代の開発の諸相を考えることを中心とした。

The Heian 平安 period is the transition period from the nationwide and large scale cultivation indicated by the enforcement of Jôri 条里 system of the Ritsuryô 律令 state to the small scale cultivation under the manorial system. At that time the main object of cultivation was Tashiro 田代 left as an inheritance of Jôri system and wasteland continuously reproduced organically, both were comparatively easy to cultivate. To these objects of cultivation, general peasantry is suitable, and this continuous cultivation strengthens their right of land as a Jiden 治田 owner and also their class progress by their settlement in each area, which largely regulates the cultivation of manorial lords, Kokuga 国衙 as well as residents of influence. In this article, aspects of the cultivation in this time are mainly considered from these points of view.
