<研究ノート>但波吉備麻呂の計帳手実をめぐって

Abstract

正倉院文書のなかに近江国志何郡古市郷 (現在の大津市南部) に住んだ大友但波史族吉備麻呂の家族の計帳手実九通の断簡が現存している。それは神亀元年から天平十四年まで前後約二十年間に断続しているが、同一家族の変遷を籍帳上にたどりうる唯一の史料として貴重なものである。本稿はその計帳手実の基礎的考察として、その紙背に書かれた造石山寺所関係文書の検討を通じて、まず断簡配列の復原を試み、ついでそれら計帳手実がいつ、どのような経路と事情によって造石山寺所で利用される至ったかを推測しようとしたものである。すなわち右の計帳手実は但波吉備麻呂が石山寺増築工事に関係したため、直接造石山寺所に入り、そこで天平宝字六年七月末ごろ反故紙として利用されたことを明らかにし、さらに計帳手実が造石山寺所に入った事情についても三つの試案を提起したが、それは計帳手実一般の問題にもつながる。

This article is a restorative consideration about the nine imcomplete letters of Keicho-shujitsu 計帳手実 in relation to Kibimaro 吉備麻呂 of Otomo-tamba 大友但波 clan, called 'Tamba-no-kibimaro' for short, having been transmitted in the documents of Shôsôin. These nine incomplete letters were the valuable source showing the change of a certain familyconstruction for about twenty years from 724 to 742.; though it has not been explained heretofore what these letters are, what they were, why they have been transmitted as documents in Shôsôin and what Tamba-no-kibimaro is as a central person of the letters. Then, this article presents a proposal to these questions and is to contribute to the progress of future study with the introduction of a partial result of examination on the original source.
