<論説>アラブ征服期におけるエジプトの税制について

Abstract

初期イスラームの税制史に関して、D.C.Dennettは重要な研究を残したが、ムスリムの伝承資料を無批判に利用したことと、征服当初からウマイヤ朝中期に至るまでの税制の展開という点をあまり考慮しなかったことのために、彼の研究は出発点から多くの難点を抱えてしまった。そこで本稿では、ムスリムの伝承資料の特異性を顧慮しつつ、被征服民のキリスト教徒が残した史書をも最大限に利用しながら、アラブ征服期のエジプトにおいて、いかなる税制が確立されたかを明らかにしたい。

About the history of taxation system in early Islam D.C. Dennett has left his valuable works, though his study has many weak points from the beginning, for he used Muslim hadith literature without any criticism and he gave little attention to the historical development of the taxation system from the beginning of the conquest to the middle period of the Umayyads. In this article, considering the speciality in the hadith literature and making the best of historical works by the conquered Christians, the author explains what system of taxation was established in Egypt under the Arab conquest.
