<研究ノート>天正末期毛利氏の領国支配の進展と家臣団の構成 : 「八箇国御時代分限帳」の分析を中心にして

Abstract

小稿は、天正末期の毛利氏の領国支配の進展状況と、家臣団の構成・活用の実態を、「八箇国御時代分限帳」の分析を通して明らかにしょうとしたものである。大名領主権確立の方向が、領国内の中世的な夾雑権力を排除して、領国の一円化を目指していたことはいうまでもない。そのためには、在地性の極めて強い上級家臣団の知行形態が、安堵知行から宛行知行へと変質し、新恩給知による分散的な入組支配に変って、漸次その特権が否定されていく過程が究明されねばならない。この過程で旧族土豪の在地性が否定されて、領国一円に大名領主権が滲透していくのであるが、毛利氏の領国化の傾向は、安芸・備後、周防・長門、石見・出雲・隠岐、伯耆、備中の順を以て進み、天正一六年以降に領国全域にわたって実施された惣国検地の結果に基づいて、天正一九年三月に豊臣氏より八か国一一二万石を安堵され、最終的に領国の境界が確定するにおよんで略々成立した。

This article explains the realities of the developing process of the Môri 毛利 clan's rule and the construction and application of the retainers' group, through the analysis of "Hakkakohu-onjidai-bugencho" 八箇国御時代分限帳. Direction of establishment of daimyô 大名 (feudal lord) lordship was certainly forthe unification of the territory, excluding the various mediaeval powers in the territory; to explain this fact, it should be examined that the form of upper vassals' feud with strong residentiary changed from Ando 安堵 feud to Ategai 宛行 feud, from the dispersive Irikumi 入組 government by new Onkyuchi 恩給知 to transitional negation of its privilege. In this transition the residentiary of the former lords was denied and daimyo's 大名 lordship penetrated into the whole territory; and the trend of the Mori's 毛利 unification proceeded to Aki 安芸-Bingo 備後, Suô 周防-Nagato 長門, Iwami 石見-Izumo 出雲, Oki 隠岐, Hôki 伯耆, and Bicchû 備中. As a result of Sôkoku-kenchi 惣国検地 which was enforced over the whole territory after Tensho 16, eight countries with 1, 120, 000 koku 石 of the clan were authorized by the Toyotomi 豊臣 and at last the boundary of its territory was established.
