<論説>朝鮮における金属器の起源問題

Abstract

朝鮮に金属器が出現するのは、櫛歯文土器文化に継起した、コマ形ないし無文土器文化においてである。青銅器を主とするとはいえ、鉄器も遠からず使用した。青銅器の製作は、当初から行なわれていた可能性が強い。しかし、青銅器を模倣した石製品の豊富なことは・金属器が容易に普遍化しなかったことを意味する。ところで、金属器成立の背景には、遠く中国の新石器文化の影響を受けて成立した、農耕を主要な生産部門とする社会が、遼河流域を中心とした広大な地域に存在し、金属器に裏づけられた遊牧的な社会との交渉を通じて金属器を受容していった歴史的諸条件がある。すなわち、コマ形土器あるいは無文土器文化における内在的な発展が、櫛歯文土器文化以来の、内蒙古・遼河流域との共通の文化的基盤に立ちつつ、新たな中原と北方地方の情勢の変化を契機として、金属器の出現をもたらしたのである。それは、中国の春秋前半すなわち西暦紀元前七〜八世紀を上限とし、戦国つまり西歴紀元前三〜五世紀にかけてのことである。朝鮮における金属器の起源問題の究明は、日本の弥生文化における金属器受容の外的条件としてもかかわってくる。

The appearance of metalic implements in Korea was in the culture of top-styled or non-pattern pottery which succeeded to the comb-toothed pottery, using bronze tools generally with immediate appearance of use of iron tools. There is a strong possibility that bronze tools were manufactured from the beginning, but abundance of the stone tools copied after bronze ones means slow generalization of metalic tools. In the background of establishment of metalic period existed the very society with the mair productive section of agriculture that was populated in the immense region of the Liao-ho 遼河 basin and interchanged with some nomadic societies accompanied with metalic tools; that is, the intrinsic development in the culture of top-styled or non-pattern pottery, on the common cultural basis of nui-mêng-ku 内蒙古 and Liao-ho, brought the appearance of metalic tools due to the new change of situation in Chung-yüan 中原 and the Northern District, the period of which was from the first-half of Ch'un-ts'in 春秋 in China, or 7 or 8 centuries B.C. to the limit, to Chan-kuo 戦国 or 3 or 5 centuries B.C.. The solution in the origination of metalic tools in Korea is related to external conditions in acceptance of metalic tools in the culture of Yayoi 弥生 in Japan.
