自由な校風という教育実践 --京都府立鴨沂高等学校の学校行事「仰げば尊し」から--

Abstract

本稿は, 京都府立鴨沂高等学校の学校行事「仰げば尊し」を主な題材に, 「自由な校風」という教育実践の意義と限界を考察するものである. 同校では, 戦後直後から表現の自由が重視されていた. 当初は仮装行列であった「仰げば尊し」は, 1960年代にデモンストレーションとなる. 1980年代には教育実践としても位置づけられているが, 2010年代の校舎改築及び校風改革によって廃止された. しかし, 主権者教育が推進される現代においてこそ, 自由で自立した市民を育てる校風として再評価できるのではないだろうか.

The aim of this paper is to examine the significance and limitations of bringing the liberty tradition in schools as an educational practice, specifically in the school event Aogeba Toutoshi, performed at Ohki High School, Kyoto. After World War II, freedom of expression was emphasized in schools, and from the 1960s, specifically, Aogeba Toutoshi changed from a masquerade ceremony to a demonstration. The tradition was positioned as an educational practice in the 1980s but was abolished in the 2010s because of school building remodeling and other changes in school traditions. In the present age of sovereign education, the practice can be re-evaluated as an ambitious school tradition with the aim to foster free and independent citizens.
