抄録: In 2019, the two digital artists, Matt Smith and Anders Rådén, "recreated" the already lost plaster sculptures engraved by Umberto Boccioni (painter and sculptor 1882-1916), using 3D printing technology. Of these, the three statues that have been revived will provide a real understanding of the ecphrasis written by the famous Italian historian Roberto Longhi (1890-1970) in the book titled Scultura futurista Umberto Boccioni (1914). This paper aims to reconstruct what Longhi saw in Boccioni's sculptures and how he saw them. It turned out that Longhi was giving different types of look to each of the three sculptures. In other words, Longhi handled the three way of looking at artworks. The first one is the 'look of photographer', who put the distinctive plastic elements into the shutter one by one. The second is the "look of comparison", with which he watched each part of artworks while moving the eyes to determine the overall plastic movement. The third is the 'look of material', with which he observed the seemingly detailed touches that appear on the surface of artwork. This paper concluded that Longhi complementally used these three perspectives in order to practice the 'critica figurativa pura (pure figurative criticism)'.
