dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this paper is to consider the possibility of cooperation within the university community through the activities of university organizations, taking Australia as a case where comprehensive university organizations have strong representativeness. We have analyzed the differences in policy recommendations between the comprehensive university group "Universities Australia" (UA) and the categorized university group "Group of Eight"(Go8). As a result, it was shown that the themes dealt within the recommendations of UA and Go8 were segregated. Moreover, it became clear that there was no significant disagreement regarding the recommendations which covers some overlapping themes. It was found that comprehensive university groups make claims that are more acceptable to various universities through examining some of their claims. On the other hand, the ones from categorized university groups only benefit a small number of universities. However, it is premature to think of this as a collapse of cooperation between universities. It can be presumed that the categorized university groups did not make strong "self-righteous" claims among the comprehensive university groups, which can be called a realistic cooperative relationship. In conclusion, it was pointed out that in order to maintain such a relationship in a comprehensive university organization, it is necessary to enhance activities other than policy proposals and provide motivation. | en |
