Abstract

本稿では、ビルマ･ザガイン管区･ピンレーブー郡区･モーラン村ではなされるモーラン･カドゥー語について、音韻論の概要を報告する。調査の結果、以下の諸点があきらかとなった。1. モーラン･カドゥー語の音素は/p, pʰ, b, t, tʰ, d, c[tɕ], j[dʑ], k, kʰ, g, ʔ, s, sʰ, ɕ, z, h, m, n, ñ, [nʲ], ŋ, l, w, y, [j];a, i, u, e, ɛ, o, ɔ, ə/である。2. 高声調、中声調、低声調、下降(緊喉)声調の四声調が弁別的であるほか、固有の声調をもたない軽声がある。3. セットー･カドゥー語と比較すると、有声阻害音が音素的になっている点が特徴的である。4. モーラン・カドゥー語の有声阻害音は、一般的には、ルイ祖語に推定される入破音に対応する閉鎖音に由来する。5. 低声調は、一般的には、高声調に後続する中声調が変調した結果、二次的に発生したものである。6. 下降(緊喉)声調は、一般的には、中声調に後続する低声調が変調した結果、二次的に発生したものである。7. 赤タイ語からの借用語については、赤タイ語の低声調は、モーラン･カドゥー語でも低声調で借用される。

This paper aims to give an overview of Molang Kadu phonology. Molang Kadu is a member of the Luish group of Tibeto-Burman spoken in Molang region of Pinlebu Township, Sagaing Division, Burma. The findings in this research can be summarised as follows. 1. Following phonemes can be postulated in Molang Kadu: /p, pʰ, b, t, tʰ, d, c[tɕ], j[dʑ], k, kʰ, g, ʔ, s, sʰ, ɕ, z, h, m, n, ñ, [nʲ], ŋ, l, w, y, [j];a, i, u, e, ɛ, o, ɔ, ə/ 2. There are four distinctive tones: high, mid, low, and falling (creaky) in addition to an atonic schwa. 3. Compared with Setto Kadu, it is characteristic that voiced obstruents are phonemic. 4. Voiced obstruents of Molang Kadu are generally derived from corresponding implosive stops reconstructed for Proto-Luish. 5. A low tone is generally a result of the tonal alternation of a mid tone into a low tone after a high tone. 6. A falling (creaky) tone is typically a secondary result of the tonal alternation of a low tone into a falling (creaky) tone after a mid tone. 7. For words borrowed from Red Shan (Tai Naing), a low tone of Red Shan (Tai N aing) corresponds to a low tone in Molang Kadu.
