<実践報告>オンライン授業での日本語能力上達を左右する要因 --2020年度前期の京都大学日本語科目履修者及び担当教員に対するアンケート調査を基に--

Abstract

授業のオンライン実施は日本語学習者の日本語能力の上達にいかなる影響を与えるのか。その検証を目的として、2020年度前期に京都大学で開講したオンライン日本語授業の履修者及び担当教員を対象としたアンケート調査を実施した。履修者、教員共にオンライン授業で日本語能力が概ね上達したと実感していることから、オンライン授業を介して日本語能力の上達は充分に可能なことが明らかになった。しかし、上達を実感していない履修者も一定程度見られることが浮き彫りになった、一方、オンライン授業への転換によって生じた学習媒体、学習環境、学習スタイルの変化による影響に対する検証では、オンライン日本語授業の効果を左右し得る要素としてストレス、集中力、予習・復習の必要性、質問しにくさ、インタラクション及び学習環境が浮かび上がってきた。オンライン授業を実施する際には、それらに対する注意が必要であること、更には、学習技能に合わせたより一層の工夫が必要であることが示唆された。

This study aims to reveal the language learning outcomes of online Japanese classes and factors affecting such outcomes by analyzing the results of a survey conducted in 2020 having 166 Japanese language learners taking Japanese language courses at Kyoto University and 22 teachers as its target. The results show that both the learners and the teachers found favorable improvements in Japanese language skills, showing the potential of online classes as a tool to develop Japanese language skills. However, the study also reveals that factors such as stress, concentration difficulties, effort put into preparation and revision, difficulties in asking questions during classes, interaction with classmates and with the teachers as well as the study environment could affect the outcomes of an online Japanese class. Furthermore, the findings suggest that the effect may vary depending on the specific language skill targeted in each class.
