近畿地方の最近の地殻変動について

Abstract

京都大学防災研究所付属地震予知研究センターの地殻変動観測所のうち近畿地方に分布する3観測所（天ヶ瀬・阿武山・屯鶴峯）で，2003年2～3月頃から，地殻歪に顕著な変化が生じ現在まで継続している。地殻歪に変化が生じたのと同じ時期に，逢坂山観測所の地下水位にも地殻歪の変化に起因すると考えられる顕著な変化が生じた。また，2004年9月23日と2005年1月29日に逢坂山観測所で地下水位の急激な変化が観測されたが，この様な地下水位の急変の後に地震が発生した事例が過去に複数経験されている。近畿地方の地殻活動に変化が生じていることは確実であり，或いは近い時期に規模の大きな地震が発生する可能性も有り得る。

The crustal movement records obtained at plural observatories distributed in the central part ofKinki district show that from the beginning of 2003 the contraction rate in the direction of north andsouth is increasing. An anomalous change of an underground water level was observedsimultaneously. Moreover, at the Osakayama observatory sudden changes in the undergroundwater level were recorded on September 23 2004 and on January 29 2005. In the past, most cases ofsuch water level changes preceded earthquakes occurred in the vicinity of the Osakayamaobservatory. We consider that these unusual phenomena may be a precursor of an earthquake.
