2004年10月5日に池田町付近で発生したM4.8(JMA)の地震について

Abstract

福井県及び周辺では，明瞭な活断層の存在とそれに沿って認められる微小地震の活動の存在が指摘されてきた。特に嶺北地方では，福井地震断層に沿う活動（余震）が顕著である。2004年の10月5日に発生した地震（M4.8, JMA）は，福井地震断層の延長付近で発生し，2000年12月より地震活動の空白域を形成していたことが分かった。メカニズム，余震の並び（MJHDによる再決定）に対応するリニアメントはなく，少し離れた所にある温見断層が同じ走向であると推定される。池田町，及び周辺（嶺北）では，2003年の10月付近より地震発生数の減少が認められ，2004年の6月までは引き続き傾向が認められた。本地震との関連解明までは至らなかったが，継続して検討中である。

An earthquake with magnitude 4.8 (JMA) occurred at Ikeda town in Fukui prefecture on Oct. 5, in 2004. Hokuriku Observatory has monitored the seismicity in and around the Fukui prefecture. We recognized the seismic gap before occurrence of this earthquake at Ikeda town. This gap appeared from December, 2000. No lineament of active fault at surface corresponds to the focal fault. The cumulative number of earthquakes at Reihoku district shows the decrease from last 2003. We are researching the cause of this phenomenon.
