dc.description.abstractIn this study, we analyzed the water vapor structure around convective clouds and tried to index the water vapor at middle-level through the results of numerical weather model simulations. Then, we analyzed water vapor observation result through new index. First, the investigation of water vapor structure around the developed convective cloud and the statistical analysis led to the interpretation that the water vapor content at an altitude of 2 km has a significant effect on the intensification of rainfall. Next, a new index, AWV₁₊, was proposed to describe water vapor at an altitude of 2 km. Compared to the available precipitable water vapor index (PWV), AWV₁₊ was shown to significantly discriminate the enhancement of rainfall intensity. Finally, the observation results were analyzed through AWV₁₊ and PWV, but there was no significant difference between them. As the reason of that, the not enough special distribution of observation can be mentioned.en
