<研究論文>社会言語学的な研究をするためのウェブ検索方法 --お好み焼きを食べるときに使う「コテ」と「ヘラ」を例に--

Abstract

本稿は, 社会言語学的な研究をするための検索エンジンの利用方法について具体的に説明し, その方法を利用してどのような研究が可能なのか, 事例研究を紹介することを目的とする。事例研究では, Googleの検索エンジンと検索演算子を活用し, グルメサイト「食べログ」の口コミから, お好み焼きを食べるときに用いる「コテ」や「ヘラ」の用例と, 利用者の社会的属性(現住所・年齢・性別)を収集した。用例と利用者の社会的属性を分析した結果, 「コテ」は近畿地方での使用が著しく, 「ヘラ」は広島とその周辺地域, そして, 関東地方での使用が目立っていることがわかった。また, 20代から40代の間では「ヘラ」の使用が「コテ」より多いが, 50代から70代までは「コテ」の使用が「ヘラ」より多いことが明らかになった。なお, 「コテ」と「ヘラ」の使用には性別による差があり, 男性は「コテ」, 女性は「ヘラ」を用いる傾向が見られている。

The intention of this paper is to consider sociolinguistic methods for studying the Japanese language based on web searches. As a case study, Google's search engine and search operators were used to collect examples of kote and hera, which are types of dinnerware, from the gourmet website “Tabelog.” Additionally, the social characteristics of kote and hera users, such as their addresses, ages, and genders, were collected. The results revealed that in the Kinki region, kote was used more predominantly, whereas hera was conspicuously favored in Hiroshima and its environs as well as the Kanto region. Moreover, the use of kote tended to increase correspondently with user's age. Hera was used more often than kote in the population of people in their 40s and younger, but its use decreased in the userbase that was past the age of 50. There were also differences in usage between genders: men preferred the use of kote more than hera, the latter of which was favored by women.
