The fact is an acute point of being. However much one may depend upon the fact, one cannot be settled there on account of its being a mere acute point. That is to say the fact reflects itself upon the situation of human existence, which means the self-limitation of factuality in general, i. e. of the being itself. If we try to absorb conclusively the factuality in general into either consciousness or non-consciousness, then inevitably comes about an abstraction of being. Of course such a fundamental reflexion itself would be impossible apart from human conscious activity. But if we examine more closely, we shall find that the conscious activity backed up with such a fundamental reflexion is semantical not any more in distinction and isolation from the non-conscious, but in recognition of its syssemanticity with the latter. But the mode of recognition of this syssemanticity is not always the same. The fault of the criticism of Kant, based upon his conscious distinction of the conscious and the non-conscious, is due to his way of grasping this syssemantic nature solely on the declination of epistemological consciousness. When we re-examine, with such a consideration as the approach, syssemanticity in connection with locality, which is incommensurable with and at the same time indivisible from semanticity, and establish it on the basis of the interpenetration of the conscious and the non-conscious, then the way to factuality as the very being will be elucidated; and the attempt to clarify the structure of such a question will also meet the basic intention of ontological problematics. If I am not wrong in this consideration, the next step will be to re-estimate from this point of view the various ontologies which have passed so far as genuine ontological thoughts. This paper, as a preliminary study for such a re-estimation, aims to show as conclusively as possible the key-points for the genuine ontological understanding from the view-point of problematics.en
