| 抄録: | The Large-Scale Earthquake Countermeasures Law was put into effect when I started my career as an earthquake scientist. During my early career, I was devoted to administrative jobs related to the Tokai earthquake prediction. However, I had been skeptical of this program, because I have watched several evidence that cast doubt about its expected outcome. Thus, it may be my destiny that I took part in the abolition of the Tokai scheme. On my retirement, it is not a bad idea to present my experience as a government official and professor of Kyoto University; dream and reality of earthquake prediction. Based on my 30-year long experience, I would like to advise that it causes a trouble to establish a system using immature science. |
