dc.description.abstract | A neutral beam probing method is proposed for measurement of plasma current profile in a tokamak. An emulsion plate is used to detect the secondary ions. This method is compared with the ion beam probing in which the primary particles are heavy ions. It has been concluded that a neutral beam is superior to an ion beam for the purpose of determining plasma current profile. From numerical orbit calculations, it has been found that this method is applicable to the tokamak NOVA II, with moderate requirements on the neutral beam source. | en |
