<実践報告>Kyoto iUPにおけるチューターによる就学支援(I) --予備教育課程におけるオフィスアワー(ホームルーム)活動--

Abstract

京都大学の学部留学生プログラムKyoto iUPにおいて、2019年度から2021年度に行った予備教育生に対するチューターによる就学支援、とりわけ多対多で行ったオフィスアワーに関する報告を行う。オンラインでの活動となった2020年度は、チューターの連携が困難になった。予備教育生に行った事後アンケートでもそれに起因する改善点の指摘があり、チューターからも「事前にチューターの交流があったほうがうまく連携できた」という声があがった。そこで、翌2021年度は、①活動開始前にチューターだけの交流会を行い、②毎週、チューターによるミーティングを行って次回の活動内容を決め、③準備してから活動に臨む運営サイクルを構築した。2021年度では、根本的な改善を求める声はなく、運営サイクルによりチューターが主体となって企画・実施することができた。また、チューターに対するアンケート結果から、「常識的なことでもわかりやすく教える力がついた」などチューターにも一定の教育効果が確認された。

This paper reports tutoring support to preparatory course students of Kyoto University International Undergraduate Program from AY 2019 to 2021, especially office hour (homeroom) activities conducted on a many-to-many basis. In AY 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, online activities made it difficult for tutors to cooperate. A survey conducted with students pointed out things that needed to be improved. The difficulty of cooperation caused them. A tutor also claimed that the tutors could have worked better together if they had interacted with each other beforehand. Therefore, the authors established the following PDCA cycle in AY 2021. (1) tutors' social gathering before the start of activities, (2) meeting after every office hour to decide the next theme, and (3) preparation for the next office hour. As there were no calls for significant improvements, the cycle enabled the tutors to plan and organize the office hour activities proactively. The tutors' survey revealed educational effects on the tutors, such as they gained the ability to teach even common-sense things in an easy-to-understand manner.
