抄録: This study discusses effective methods for personalized and collaborative learning in Japanese language classes in elementary schools. In elementary school education, the lack of clarity among teachers concerning the intentions and goals of “personalized” or “collaborative” learning has led to confusion in teaching methods. The study first clarifies the respective characteristics and tasks of whole-class teaching, personalized learning, and collaborative learning. Rather than separating these three forms of teaching from one another, the paper elucidates the significance of coordinating them toward the teaching goal. Next, the paper analyzes the connection between special needs education and subject education. Often, schools use special needs classes or resource rooms to provide supplementary education for academic subjects. However, for the promotion of inclusive education in the future, teachers will need to ensure the children's diverse learning styles in regular classes. Therefore, special needs education and subject education must be closely connected. Based on the above, the paper proposes a method to design a class that integrates personalized and collaborative learning in Japanese language classes. When designing a Japanese language class, we must ensure that it provides “diversity of learning” to achieve educational goals.
