云南水磨房话的音系及汉语两字组的连读变调

Abstract

This article discusses the mixed phonological systems and tone sandhi patterns of Mandarin disyllabic constructions in Selibu (i.e. Shuĭmòfánghuà 水磨房话), a Khams Tibetan-Mandarin mixed language spoken mainly by Tibetanized Chinese Muslims in three hamlets of Sanba Naxi Township, Shangri-La Municipality, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. In this article, we first describe the major typological features of Selibu and its Mandarin and Tibetic phonological systems. Then, we analyze the tone sandhi patterns of Mandarin non-reduplicated disyllabic constructions, reduplicated constructions and disyllabic constructions beginning with ji²¹ 一, pu²¹ 不, ma²¹ 莫 and ?a 阿. It has been found that change of tone can be assigned to either or both of the beginning and ending syllables in disyllabic constructions.
