助産学教育における出生前診断の現状と課題-助産師学生の出生前診断に関する意識調査より-

Abstract

This study investigated the consciousness of midwifery students concerning prenatal diagnosis in order to obtain basic data for education regarding prenatal diagnosis. The consciousness of midwifery students (n=122) regarding prenatal diagnosis was investigated using a questionnaire. Findings of this study are summarized as follows. 1) Regarding knowledge of prenatal diagnoses, the notability and intelligibility of "examination of the amniotic fluid" and "ultrasonography" were more than 80%, but the intelligibility of other examinations was 20-40%. 2) Prenatal diagnostic examinations that were well recognized were "ultrasonography" "foetal DNA using maternal blood" and "mother serum triple marker test". Those examinations are not definitive, but are non invasive to the foetus. 3) In response to prenatal diagnosis Of foetal abnormality, it was indicated that 22.1% of patients delivered, 9.8% aborted, and the rest were not confirmed. 4) The consideration of the child and the approach to birth influence decisions regarding whether the prenatal diagnosis is performed and a foetus with abnormality is delivered. Thus, knowledge to the prenatal diagnosis among midwifery students is insufficient, and the decision after the prenatal diagnosis is significant for both the child and mother. Therefore, it is necessary to positively advance education in this field in the future.
