Abstract: In the third report the assumption was made, that the reaction between nitrogen and the inmost calcium carbide care of the radius r at the time t, covered with a concentric solid shell of the reaction product of the thickness c, obeys in the presence of an accelerating substance just the same reaction rate law as is the absence of it, namely, -dr/dt=k/c, where k is the parabolic constant. The solid shell is, however, at the same time dissolved from outside at the velocity S by the melt consisted of the added substance and the reaction product, so that the relation dc/dl=-dr/dt-S holds for the thickness c. From these equations the reaction time law, or the relation between t and r was obtained and compared with the experimental results. The discrepancy at the initial stage of the reaction has been tentatively explained.
