Abstract: The large single crystals of NaI(Tl) were produced by Stockbarger's and Kyropoulos' methods. The most adequate conditions for the growth of these crystals were studied. The thallium distributions in the crystal were measured, and the relation between the photon yield is the scintillation and the thallium concentration was also studied. On the other hand, the effects of the plastic deformation on the decay time and on te photon yield is NaI(Tl) scintillation were measured, and the reasonable models being responsible for the luminescent center of scintillator were discussed.
