One hundred and eighteen puerperant women (65 primiparous and 53 multiparous women) were surveyed by questionnaires regarding the degree of satisfaction with the delivery experience. Results were analyzed to establish future guidelines for assistance that would ensure maximal satisfaction with the delivery experience. The questionnaires concerned delivery techniques, knowledge regarding delivery, behavior during delivery, self-conception, and maternal psychology. The following responses were obtained from the qestionnaires: 1. "Delivery techniques" was the matter of most concern during pregnancy, followed by "maternal psychology". 2. The items selected often during pregnancy ranked high on the request scale. The two were correlated. 3. The items with high degrees of attainment after delivery were "maternal psychology" and behavior during delivery. 4. Attainment of an intented delivery pattern and the degree of satisfaction were correlated. 5. The intented items and the degree of attainment differed between primiparous and multiparous women.en
