骨巨細胞腫の人工骨による外科的治療法について

Abstract

We reviewed two cases treated using AW glass ceramics during surgery for a giant-cell tumor of bone in the proximal tibia. X-ray films showed no recurrence, and the consolidation of fractured fragments and grafted bones was complete. Implanted AW glass ceramics had sufficient strength to support the knee joint, and showed osteoconduction with the host bone. There was no difference in the range of motion and muscle power observed between the treated knee and the contra lateral knee. In both cases, there was no impairment in activities of daily living, such as gait, going up and down stairs, and floor sitting. The new surgical procedure for giant-cell tumor of bone described herein seems to be excellent and satisfactory.
