医師・看護婦の手術前除毛に対する認識--除毛方法の採用理由・除毛責任の所在意識を中心に--

Abstract

Although the risk of preoperative shaving has been pointed out since early 1970s, in most Japanese hospitals the preoperative shaving has been commonly performed. In order to elucidate the reasons, opinions on the preoperative skin preparation were interviewed against 70 surgeons and 127 nurses of Kyoto University Hospital. Most staffs considered the preoperative shaving as a routine procedure. Surgeons supported the procedure according to the hospital guideline, while nurses were motivated by not only the guideline but olso the wrong knowledge. Surgeons suppose that they are responsible for the preoperative skin preparation. In contrast, nurses propose that surgeons should be much concerned about the skin preparation. It was assumed that the invasion of surgeons against nurse's work and no responsibility of nurses caused persistence of preoperative shaving in Japan.
