dc.description.abstract | Pain should be studied from phenomenological, medical and health-anthropological points of view. Phenomenologically, we explain the meaning of pain in our daily life. Medical studies unravel the natural causality of the phenomenon of pain and investigate methods of removing its causes. Today especially, the conquest of chronic pain is one of the most important problems in a pain clinic. Health-anthropologically we must question what the pain is and why it exists. Pain is essentially a necessary element of life; that we are bodily means that we will experience pain. We need no further answer to the question. The essential, unqestionable nature of pain like that of our existence is a key point. Pain has its roots in our contradictory being which unifies eternity and temporality, infinity and limitedness. | en |
