To foster children's right to spontaneous activity, which is well-expressed by such words as "vivid, willing, and living vigorously", means to assist their active efforts at self-realization. In other words, children, by undergoing various conflicts, develop the capacity to find answers to problems they will face in the next stage of their development. In order for children to expose themselves to these conflicts, they must have a sense of security, which is tantamount to the feeling of being under the watchful eye of someone who has affection for them. The above-described state is referred to as "positive stability of emotions". The author concludes that, in the attainment of "positive stability of emotions" in children, stability in the attitude of mothers toward child-care constitutes an important factor. Moreover, the attitude of mothers toward child-care is strongly influenced by their psychological state, which is in turn influenced by their familial and cultural backgrounds.en
