抄録: We studied the usefulness of the Uchida-Kraepelin Psychodiagnostic Test (UK) as an index of educational potential for enhancing student guidance at our college. Most of the students, in overall traits, scored within the "wholesome group" on UK, suggesting that their potential for learning or studying in the college are excellent. However, the difference was found between the students who graduated after three years and those who repeated; the former tended to score in the "highly wholesome" category on UK, while the latter scored in the "unwholesome" category. Generally, the students that graduated after 3 years had well-balanced traits and a higher ability to adapt to their surroundings compared to repeaters. In addition, although they revealed their own individuality in their behavior, no fluctuation of performance, errors, or mental depression were shown, so that they could maintain high academic records. In the "tendency toward special quality and singularity" on UK, two special traits of "temporary mental suspension" and "lose of vigor" were also relevant to student's performance, especially repeaters. We concluded that UK could be a useful index for predicting the nature of students, and further for developing a new program of educational guidance for repeaters.
