抄録: | To clarify the conditions that improve quality of life (QOL) in patients with Parkinson's disease who are under treatment at home, patients showing high QOL scores were compared with those showing low QOL scores. As a result, the following issues were found to improve QOL: 1. Higher self-supporting ability in ADL, particularly in aesthetic behavior, cleansing behavior, and clothes-changing behavior in lower half of the body. 2. Higher communicative function, such as a higher frequency of writing and telephone use. 3. Depressive tendency within the normal range. 4. Complete preparation of a living environment that does not interfere the patient's movement. 5. Acquiring of appropriate knowledge of the disease during periodic consultation with physicians. 6. Detailed understanding of the information about health and welfare services. Therefore, considering the conditions that improve QOL in patients with Parkinson's disease who are under treatment at home, it is important to support them by improving their daily life, arousing their interests, and making the best use of their residual function or potentiality, as well as by providing appropriate information. |
