慢性疾患患者のストレス反応と行動特性について

Abstract

Stress reactions and behavioral characters, such as type A behavior pattern and positive coping behavior character, were compared in 4 groups of chronic disease ; ischemic heart disease, chronic respiratory disease, diabetes mellitus and chronic renal failure. The subjects were 211 outpatients in the hospitals in Kyoto Prefecture. (59 ischemic heart disease, 57 chronic respiratory disease, 37 diabetes mellitus and 58 chronic renal failure) Stress reactions were measured by the modified Stress Checklist (SCL86), consisting of psychological experiences, somatic symptoms and coping behavior (Nomura et al., 1989). Type A behavior pattern measured by application of brief questionnaire (Maeda, 1991). Positive coping behavioral character scales were developed by Munakata, 1991. The results were as follows: 1 . The scores of psychological experiences in patients with ischemic heart disease were significantly higher than those in diabetes mellitus. There were no significant differences in the scores of somatic symptoms and coping behavior among 4 groups of outpatients, respectively. 2 . There were significant positive correlation between the scores of psychological experiences and somatic symptoms in 4 groups of outpatients. 3 . The percentage of the patients with Type A behavioral pattern in ischemic heart disease was higher than that in other groups. 4 . The scores of positive coping behavioral character in ischemic heart disease tended to be higher than those in diabetes mellitus.
