抄録: | An occupational therapist is a staff who engages in a medical treatment. Consequently, the clinical practice is limited to medical treatment institutions by the specified rule. However, a subject layer of rehabilitation expands recently, and the scope of the job spreads from medical area to welfare area. The cooperation of various professional staffs is necessary. Therefore, a limitation of the traditional ways of clinical practice rises. We have analyzed the present state of clinical practice in this paper. The main issues in the traditional ways are that a standard of attainment is ambiguous, and that the purpose of clinical practice is aimed at training a student to be an expert staff immediately after graduation. Because the content for learning has increased, it cannot obtain enough effect by the traditional clinical practice. Mental and physical burdens of clinical leaders get larger than the effect of a clinical practice. Mental burden of a student also is larger than the educational effect. Therefore, we have changed "the clinical practice" to "the fieldwork education." The new standard of attainment and methods are as follows. 1 . to provide the clinical place and make a student be aware of the personal task for becoming an occupational therapist 2 . to dispose a student to the clinical occupational therapy as an early exposure soon after the admission 3 . to adopt an imitation learning, a social learning and a group learning instead of the individual practice |
